A central intelligence agent has the distinct duty and honor of working within the Central Intelligent Agency (CIA), which looks for and deters terrorist attacks and other international unlawful acts that can affect the United States.The CIA was created in an effort to collect, analyze, and report to U.S. policy makers the activities of foreign countries in an effort to deter terrorist activities that can affect the United States and its citizens. There are five areas of specialization within the CIA. These include science, technical and engineering, national clandestine services, language, and analytic support services. Although the pay and benefits are considerable, danger is prevalent and expected. Although, each division within the federal government has their own methods of training, a degree in sociology or criminal justice is beneficial. Most government jobs require a bachelor's degree within a minimum grade point average of 3.0 just to be considered for a position. You are also required to take and pass the CIA exam, will be subject to an extensive background investigation to determine whether you are suitable to have access to information critical to national security. |
